The most important step of any plan in supporting the Mental Well-being of staff. This is the foundation that will underpin any other intervention.
Under The Health and Safety at Work Order (NI) 1978 employers have a duty to ensure so far as reasonably practicable the health and safety of their employees at work. Additionally, there are duties upon employers to assess risks to health. These duties are contained within The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations (NI) 2000. In the past these duties focused on physical well-being but is now recognised that it applies EQUALLY to psychological health and well-being.
HSENI advise online that under EU Directive 89/391/EEC Mental Well-being should be risk assessed the same as Physical Well-being.
To ensure your business or organisation is complying with the law, we provide a full risk assessment based on the Management Standards developed by The Health and Safety Executive in 2004.
Once the risk assessment is completed, a comprehensive report will be provided to enable identification of any potential issues. A follow up meeting will be an opportunity to discuss the results of the assessment once the report is issued.
